Friday night plans were completely ruined for thousands of country music fans, but for a very terrifying reason.
Country superstar Ella Langley was forced to abruptly cancel her sold-out show at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, just hours before she was set to take the stage. The 27-year-old “Choosin’ Texas” singer took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news, citing a “serious security threat” as the reason behind the sudden cancellation.
According to the Tulsa Police Department, a chilling phone call was made threatening the lives of the people attending the event.
Authorities immediately jumped into action. Police officers, K-9 units, and bomb squads swept the entire building and the surrounding areas not once, but twice. Thankfully, they found no credible threat or dangerous items on the premises.
Despite the police giving the all-clear, Ella and her team decided it was better to be safe than sorry. They chose to pull the plug on the performance to protect everyone involved.
“I know how much time, travel, money, and planning goes into coming to a show, and I can’t tell you how sorry I am,” Ella wrote in her emotional apology to fans. “I was so looking forward to spending tonight with you, but your safety will always mean more to me than anything else. I refuse to put anyone in harm’s way.”
