The drama behind the scenes of the hit sitcom Mom is finally coming to light, and it is getting incredibly messy!
For years, fans wondered why Anna Faris abruptly left the beloved CBS comedy right before its eighth and final season. Now, show creator Chuck Lorre is spilling the tea in his explosive new memoir, Sitcom. In the book, Chuck claimed that Anna left for “mysterious reasons” and admitted that his initial reluctance to hire her was “in fact, correct.” Ouch!
Well, Anna is not staying silent. The 49-year-old Scary Movie star took to Instagram on Thursday to address the brutal diss and share her side of the story.
“Yikes. Yes, I read a few things. I really didn’t see that coming. Of course it hurts,” Anna honestly wrote to her followers.
Despite the harsh words, Anna took the high road and expressed her gratitude for the seven years she spent playing Christy Plunkett. “Chuck gave me a job I loved, and for seven years I never took a day of it for granted,” she shared.
But the biggest bombshell came when Anna revealed the real reason behind her sudden exit: her mental health and battle with addiction.
“I’ve been sober for a year and a half. I was on a show about recovery and then I lived it,” Anna bravely confessed. “Now I’m healthy, I’m working, and I’m happier than I’ve been in a long time.”

Anna previously admitted on a podcast that she was suffering from depression and self-sabotage during her final days on the show. Now, she hopes her journey to sobriety can inspire others who might be struggling.
