Saturday Night Live just delivered one of the most iconic celebrity crossovers of the year!
During the October 3 episode, actress Dakota Johnson took the stage to host SNL for the third time. But the real shocker came during her opening monologue when none other than pop superstar Taylor Swift crashed the stage to surprise her longtime friend!
Dakota, who recently starred in Taylor’s highly anticipated music video for her new single “Patient Zero”, was celebrating her 37th birthday. To make the night extra special, Taylor walked out holding a gorgeous turquoise-and-white funfetti birthday cake.
“Thank you for having my birthday with me!” Dakota squealed as she jumped up and down, giving the Grammy winner a massive hug.
The sweet moment quickly turned hilarious as Dakota joked about her history of dating musicians, calling Taylor her “literal therapist.”
Taylor quickly fired back, joking, “You just show up once a week at my house with an empty bottle of wine… flop on my couch and overshare, and every so often I just say, ‘Damn, that’s crazy.’”
Dakota then hilariously claimed she was doing a “public service” by dating musicians and saving women money on therapy. She even gave a cheeky shoutout to Cleveland, which prompted a loud “Woo-woo!” from Taylor in honor of her husband, Travis Kelce’s hometown roots.
The beautiful birthday cake was created by Gaby Scelzo of Gaby Cakes, who revealed on Instagram that Taylor even added a personal touch by writing “happy birthday Dakota!” on the cake herself.
It is safe to say this SNL monologue will go down in history as one of the best!
