Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent pub date looked like a picture-perfect romantic outing, but royal experts are now raising some serious red flags.
Just a few days ago, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made headlines when they were spotted holding hands and enjoying a low-key lunch at a 16th-century British pub. Fans loved seeing the couple acting like normal locals, feasting on fish and chips.
However, critics are now questioning if the entire outing was actually a carefully staged PR stunt!
According to The Daily Beast, several things about the viral photos just do not add up. First, the pictures are incredibly sharp and clear, which is highly unusual for a random paparazzi snap. Second, British photographers do not usually wait outside random country pubs on the off chance that a royal might show up.
Experts are pointing out that the photos tell the exact story the Sussexes want the world to see: that their marriage is rock solid and that they still love traditional English culture.
But the biggest red flag? The lack of security.
Harry and Meghan have been very vocal about their intense security needs in the U.K. In fact, just days before this pub visit, the couple was reportedly furious after alleged paparazzi were spotted near their children’s new school. Yet, during this pub date, there was no visible security team in sight.
“Either they have been exaggerating their security needs, or the security stayed conveniently out of shot until after the pics were taken,” one royal editor noted.
To make matters even more suspicious, the original photos were published with a strict “NO CREDIT” label, meaning the photographer’s identity is being kept a secret.
Did Harry and Meghan secretly tip off a photographer to capture their romantic lunch, or was it just a lucky shot? Let us know your theories in the comments below!
