Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s highly secretive July wedding at Madison Square Garden is still the talk of the town! Because the couple kept the ceremony so private, the internet has been flooded with wild rumors about what actually went down.
One of the biggest rumors? That country music legend Tim McGraw took the stage to perform for the happy newlyweds. Now, the 59-year-old singer is finally setting the record straight!
During a recent appearance on Esquire’s What I’ve Learned podcast, Tim addressed the massive internet speculation.
“I didn’t perform at her wedding. That was a rumor,” Tim clarified with a laugh. “Surprise, the internet’s not always correct.”
While he did not grab a microphone, Tim confirmed that he and his wife, Faith Hill, were absolutely on the star-studded guest list. The couple joined other A-listers like Tom Brady, Reese Witherspoon, and Sabrina Carpenter to watch Taylor and Travis exchange their vows.
Tim and Taylor actually go way back. In fact, Taylor’s very first debut single in 2006 was famously titled “Tim McGraw.” Over the years, Tim and Faith have become close mentors and friends to the pop superstar.
“Taylor’s always been close to our family, our girls,” Tim gushed on the podcast. “She’s a special person and one of the most talented people I’ve ever met.” He also added that he could not be happier that she found a “cool guy” like Travis.
It is clear that Taylor and Travis are living their best lives as newlyweds. Just recently, fans went wild when Taylor teamed up with WNBA star Caitlin Clark to cheer on Travis at a Chiefs game. Whether they are hanging out at football games or hosting secret weddings, this power couple is always making headlines!
