The years-long feud between Chet Hanks and comedian Eric André just exploded in public, and it was caught entirely on video!
Over the weekend, Tom Hanks’ 36-year-old son, Chet, confronted the Eric André Show host at ComplexCon in Los Angeles. What started as a seemingly normal interaction quickly turned into a massive screaming match that required security to step in.
In a viral video obtained by TMZ, Chet is seen approaching Eric from behind and tapping him on the shoulder. Eric initially looked friendly, holding out his hand and asking, “What’s up?” But Chet completely ignored the handshake. Instead, he kept his hand firmly on Eric’s shoulder, leading the comedian to ask, “What’d I say?”
Within seconds, both men ripped off their sunglasses and started screaming at each other in the middle of the crowded convention hall. The intense standoff only ended when Eric’s security team rushed in and pulled the comedian away.
Following the wild confrontation, Chet took to Instagram to mock Eric. He blasted the comedian for traveling with four security guards and claimed Eric was “foaming at the mouth” during their argument.
If you are wondering why these two hate each other, the beef actually started back in 2023. Chet appeared as a guest on Eric’s show, and things got dangerously out of hand. Eric later called Chet “emotionally disturbed” in a Rolling Stone interview, claiming Chet stole a motorcycle and almost injured the crew.
Chet fired back, calling Eric a “weirdo” and claiming the comedian was just mad because Chet “outshined” him on his own show.
